Official residence: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house at 6 Flagstaff Civil Lines in North Delhi has now been reshaped by the Delhi government into a state guest house and cultural center.
As per the BJP government, they plan to remake a former CM’s house where his family had lived for decades since 2015. The Delhi government wants to develop into a modern guesthouse provisioned with contemporary amenities; parking space and waiting halls are expanded. This bungalow is useful for a minister who travels, an official delegation, a foreign guest, and senior government officials who travel from India and abroad for fees.
The proposal for bungalow number 6 is in the final stage. Chief Minister Rakhe Gupta and senior officials were present at the meeting.
As per the official, last week, the Delhi Cabinet meeting had an agenda to discuss the bungalow; the proposal could not be forwarded. The Delhi government had focused on launching an EV policy at the time. The proposal will be taken for final approval.
The Delhi government said, “The public works department has submitted the details of the present condition of the property.”
Like other states, Delhi has not designated a state guesthouse lodge for national and international delegations. Officials have decided to set it up as a cultural center at the site and have developed the premises of the land into a complex.
According to the sources, on the back side of the bungalow, there is a building that was developed by the former AAP government, but now it is considered part of the project. The premise would have a guest room, a conference room, and an auditorium for various cultural activities, performances, and official ceremonies.
