
On Monday, a 35-year-old doctor, Simarpreet Singh Anand, was found dead on duty at the Arun Asaf Ali Hospital due to suicide. Officials recovered a 3-page death note from his room.
Officials assumed he was in distress; his family did not agree on inter-caste marriage with his female colleague. They both belong to different castes.
Police stated, “The doctor was on his shift on Saturday from 8 PM to 8 AM. He was actively reported at 11 PM, earlier, and made his way to patient room number 109.
Officials revealed that when his shift ended, his colleague knocked on his door and called him. After receiving no response, his colleague had intimated that. They noticed the room was locked from the inside; they smashed open the door, and they found him in an unconscious state in bed. They rushed to the emergency ward in the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
On Saturday night, around 10 PM, a technician assistant had inserted a cannula into the left hand at the doctor’s request during a shift.
As per the sources, the district crime team and forensics. The science laboratory examined his room; they found a syringe, an empty drug vial, three pages of a death note, and a diary.
The note revealed that “Anada was in a relationship with his female colleague, belonging to Madhya Pradesh; their marriage was not possible because they both belonged to different castes. Their parents opposed this marriage”. As per the sources, the doctor wrote in a note that he was going through emotional stress.
