For many aspirants, scoring above 700 marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is considered enough to celebrate and get admission into the top universities with high values. But for Panshul Bansal it was just a point of beginning as in previous NEET examination he got 701 marks which was good enough but as it got rescheduled, so he has to reappear for the examination and this time he got 715 and secured All India Rank (AIR) 2.
Panshul Bansal student of Somerville School in Kailash Colony said that with his previous score he was expecting a good college such as VMMc or somewhere similar to it, but wasn’t expecting this and is over the moon. He also mentions that the result is of his sustained hard work.
Panshul’s daily schedule wasn’t that of big images like endless study hours, isolation or burnout that often associate with the tough competitive examinations. Instead he follows a balanced routine for it.
His day begins at 6:30 and before starting studying he allows himself some time to unwind from 9:00 to afternoon he follows focused study, after a long lunch break resumes to early evening and then steps out to play, and finally returns for about an hour of revision at night.
He believes that success doesn’t mean compromising time. He spends time with his family and friends along with his studies and hobbies like piano, skating, outdoor games and video games, which all helped him to stay refreshed during his preparation.
Panshul’s practical advice for future aspirants is to focus on question practices, solve as many questions as you can and keep doing mock tests as it shows your weakness exactly where it is.
Prashul also said that for him consistency matters more than intensity and the biggest hurdle for him is to make sure that his scores did not fluctuate.
He says that he never found any one subject significantly harder than other, instead he focused on maintaining performance across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
His aim is to become a surgeon although yet he did not decide any, but shows interest in neurosurgery and cardiothoracic. As for where that journey begins, he doesn’t need time to think, he says “AIIMS”.
